💌Why I Love This Recipe

I love Paneer so when I discovered the viral high protein chocolate mousse recipes on the internet I thought okay let’s test it with Paneer and since then I’ve made it multiple times even for friends that we hosted and everyone really loved them!

I love that feeling when I know there’s this rich decadent chocolatey dessert that is also very healthy to indulge in waiting for me in the fridge, its just so exciting! I look forward to it, you know what I mean?

I also really love how super quick and easy this is to whip up – it hardly takes 5 mins and I have two glasses of this dessert ready! They have to be sitting in the fridge for a day to set in well so it does require to plan a day ahead if you were thinking of making it for a special event but given the quick prep work for the results it definitely makes it all worthwhile!

I’ve made this with Paneer but you can definitely try this with tofu or cottage cheese, both of these are great options as well. I hope you enjoy this just as much as I did.

~with love, Jahnvi

🛒 Ingredients you will need:

Ingredients for making paneer chocolate mousse which shows crumbled malai paneer, honey, cocoa powder, melted dark chocolate and milk.

📝Notes on Ingredients:

  • Malai Paneer: I have used Malai Paneer here as that is more richer and creamier. If you don’t have this then any normal paneer works as well.
  • Whole Milk: I use full fat milk here for more richness in the dessert.
  • Honey: This is my substitute to sugar – Honey goes really well to this recipe but you can substitute to any alternative of your choice.
  • Melted Dark Chocolate: I love dark chocolate but you can use any other chocolate of your choice.
  • Cocoa powder: For that chocolatey flavour and also for dusting.
  • Optional: a few drops of vanilla essence adds a great complex flavour to this!

👨‍🍳Recipe Success Tips:

  • Using Malai Paneer to bring out the richness and creaminess for this Mousse.
  • Using Full Fat Milk – I added ¾ cup of milk for the paneer I used and I would blend and stir between intervals as this needs to be a dense consistency so in case your paneer needs more milk you want to keep adding little by little as you blend to ensure you don’t make it a milkshake instead.
  • Be careful when melting chocolate as it continues to melt in residual heat so microwave in 15 second spurts and stop when 80 – 90% of the chocolate has melted.
  • Set in the fridge for at least overnight or 7-8 hours minimum to allow it set well for that perfect rich dense consistency.

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Crumble the Paneer in small chunks to blend smooth.
  • Mix in all the ingredients in a blender jar as below until it becomes a smooth and dense like consistency.

  • Get a glass or bowl of your choice and I like to add some nuts in the bottom before adding the mixture from the blender for that nice crunch at the end.
  • Cover it and let it sit in the fridge overnight or at least 7-8 hours.
  • Before you dig in, dust in some cocoa powder on top for a beautiful finish! You can also top up nuts or berries of your choice.

👋Conclusion

I hope you enjoyed this high protein chocolate mousse and feel inspired to embark on your own dessert adventure.

  2. Using Full Fat Milk – I added ¾ cup of milk for the paneer I used and I would blend and stir between intervals as this needs to be a dense consistency so in case your paneer needs more milk you want to keep adding little by little as you blend to ensure you don’t make it a milkshake instead.
